Description
What is AXITOL?
AXITOL is a food supplement with inositol, a-lipoic acid, amino acids, and antioxidant substances. In addition, it contains vitamin B5.
Myoinositol is the most bioavailable form of inositol, which plays a key-role in many intracellular molecular paths. It is a compound that forms normally in the human body, but it can also be consumed via food, such as cereals and fruit, especially oranges. Very recent studies correlate myoinositol with insulin metabolism and steroid hormones synthesis from the ovaries.
a-Lipoic acid, in its R enantiomeric form (R – alpha lipoic acid) is a natural compound, synthesized normally in the human body, yet in concentrations that are insufficient for the proper cellular function. Therefore, its consumption externally, via food, such as meat and vegetables, is necessary. It acts mainly as an antioxidant, either directly by scavenging the free radicals, or indirectly by inducing the synthesis and function of other antioxidant molecules within the cells. Its powerful antioxidant activity has been correlated in recent studies with insulin metabolism.
The amino acid L-carnitine exerts a very strong antioxidant activity, while it has been found in addition that it contributes to the regulation of several neurotransmitters. According to relevant studies, the abundance of L-carnitine in hypothalamus probably indicates that it may affects the function of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, thus contributing to steroidogenesis.
L-arginine, NAC and coenzyme Q10 are powerful antioxidant factors which protect cell directly or indirectly by toxins and their derivatives, the free radicals.
The CoQ10 of Axitol, is found in the form of CavaQ10® which has proven better bioavailability. In a bioavailability study it has proven a 18-fold higher bioavailability compared to CoQ10-MCC*
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin, belonging to vitamin B complex. It plays a significant role in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA), which is a necessary molecule for the synthesis of steroid hormones.
