What is the Axitol-n?
Axitol-n is a special dietary supplement that combines Alpha lipoic acid, Coenzyme Q10 (CavaQ10®), and MGCPQQ® (Pyrroloquinoline Quinone).
Alpha lipoic acid is a naturally occurring compound produced in the human body, but only in such small quantities that it is insufficient for optimal cellular function. Therefore, it must also be obtained through food sources such as meat and vegetables. Its primary action is antioxidant—either directly by neutralizing free radicals or indirectly by increasing the levels of other antioxidants in cells. Recent studies have linked its strong antioxidant activity with insulin metabolism.
Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from toxins and their by-products (free radicals), either directly or indirectly.
In Axitol-n, CoQ10 is included in the form of CavaQ10®, which offers significantly improved bioavailability. In a bioavailability study, CavaQ10® was shown to be 18 times more bioavailable than standard CoQ10-MCC.*

PQQ (Pyrroloquinoline Quinone) belongs to the family of quinone cofactors and acts as a catalytic agent in redox reactions, promoting the conversion of NADH to NAD+. NAD+ plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism, serving as an electron carrier in redox reactions.
The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has approved the use of Pyrroloquinoline Quinone in food supplements for adults (excluding pregnant and lactating women) at a maximum daily dosage of 20 mg, following a request by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc., the supplier of the MGCPQQ® used in Axitol-n.
